Biases are influenced by a person’s values, background, cultural environment, personal experiences, and societal stereotypes/norms that have an impact on decisions and actions without the person realizing it.
This course explores how Unconscious Biases are developed, how they influence our perceptions, performance, career development opportunities, shape our decision making, and its impact on the health of diversity and inclusion at an individual, leadership, and organizational level.
The goal of increasing your awareness is to channel positive and negative biases towards successful outcomes.
This workshop supports the Building Personal Capability domain in the ATD Capability model.

Dr. Mindi Anderson, Chief Motivational Officer, Maximize Solutions, and Associate Diversity Coach, Coach Diversity Institute
Mindi has a long-standing reputation in developing, growing, and leading dynamic teams within her military, civilian, and non-profit career. As the Chief Motivational Officer and Founder of Maximize Solutions, Consulting and Coaching, she shares her experience, knowledge, and passion to promote a healthy culture and provides clients with business strategy solutions to help them scale and grow. Mindi serves in the Idaho Air National Guard as the Human Resource Advisor for the 124th Fighter Wing providing organizational development and learning to over 1,200 Airmen.
Mindi serves as a business consultant for Idaho Partners 4 Good, guiding non-profits towards achieving successful outcomes. Mindi also serves in various capacities in the Cascade Fire Community Fund, Idaho Veteran Chamber of Commerce, Cascade Medical Center Foundation, and the Idaho Women’s Business Center representing Statewide Veteran Connections.
Mindi has a Doctorate in Healthcare Administration, is a Licensed Practical Nurse and an Emergency Medical Technician. She is a certified Associate Diversity Coach and a certified Emotional Intelligence trainer. In her spare time, she coaches the Idaho Air National Guard Women's softball team.

Mario Pile, Veterans Upward Bound, Project Director, Boise State University
Mario is passionate about improving education for underserved students. Prior to his role at Boise State, Mario worked at the Idaho Youth Ranch. He also has served on the board for Genesis Community Health and currently serves on the board of the Idaho Juvenile Justice Council. Mario joined the Air Force in 2002, which eventually brought him to Idaho in the summer of 2006. He has served a total of 17 years in the military; six years active duty and 11 years in the Idaho Air National Guard. Mario earned a degree in Criminal Justice from Colorado Technical University.

Todd McArthur, ACC, CPCC, has been coaching professionally for over 10 years. He has worked with clients who include executive leadership, Ivy League students, and career professionals of every kind.
Todd is an International Coach Federation (ICF) Certified Coach and is one of the only 33 ICF certified coaches in the state of Idaho. He is a member of the International Coach Federation and their local (Boise) affiliate group ICF High Country. Todd is also a member of the Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches and is a Certified Professional Career Coach (CPCC).
Todd McArthur holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwest Nazarene University and is currently enrolled in the Adult and Organizational Learning and Leadership masters degree program at the University of Idaho.
